Dweebs Global is majority minority, with leadership staff from all over the world, of different races, religions, genders, and sexualties. We have critical staff from the United States, Nigeria, India, Colombia, Belgium, Tanzania, Pakistan, Myanmar, Poland, and many other countries. Many of us have disabilities and come from seriously underprivileged backgrounds. We support Black Lives Matter, LGBTQ+ rights, gender equality, feminism, and equal opportunities for people of all religions, people with disabilities, and people from all countries around the world. (We do not discriminate based on citizenship or age, either.)
For a long time, we didn’t have a diversity statement because we found statements often are meaningless and tokenize their few minorities, whereas we are actually led by diverse people who feel weird writing about themselves in third person. Statements like this don’t matter. Action does. Dweebs Global develops apps to support the visually impaired, works to educate the formerly incarcerated, offers mental health support to LGBTQ+ youth, supports criminal justice reform, fights for racial equality, researches on health issues for people with uteruses, provides mentorship and educational resources across North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia, and believes that teams run by people on the ground are always the best way to help local communities.
We recruit and hire the best. Our volunteers are the best volunteers in the world. And the best–as it always has been–is incredibly diverse.
